The Indian Junior Men’s Hockey Team thrashed Chinese Taipei 16-0 in their Pool A match at the Men’s Junior Asia Cup in Muscat, Oman, yesterday. Dilraj Singh scored four goals while Rosan Kujur hit hattricks. India took a 5-0 lead at halftime with goals from Dilraj Singh in the 17th minute, Sourabh Anand Kushwaha in the 20th and 28th minutes, and Rosan Kujur in the 23rd minute.
The team added another goal early in the third quarter through Talem Priyobarta’s penalty corner in the 31st minute. Rosan Kujur scored again in the 32nd minute, and Arshdeep Singh added a penalty corner goal in the 37th minute. Sharda Nand Tiwari converted a penalty stroke in the 39th minute, pushing India’s lead to 9-0. In the third quarter, Dilraj Singh in the 40th and 45th minutes and Rosan Kujur in the 42nd completed hat-tricks, with Arshdeep Singh in the 44th minute adding another to make it 13-0.
India added three more goals in the final quarter, with Araijeet Singh Hundal in the 54th minute, Dilraj Singh in the 57th minute, and Sourabh Anand Kushwaha in the 58th minute on the scoresheet. The win kept India at the top of Pool A with nine points. India will take on Korea in their next match today.
