Indian benchmark Indices End Higher, Breaking 3-Day Losing Streak; Gold and Silver Prices Rise

The Indian benchmark indices broke a 3-day losing streak and ended higher with Nifty above 24,850. In the broader market at Bombay Stock Exchange, smallcap indices ended in the red, while midcap indices ended marginally higher.

 

The BSE Sensex was up by 218 points to close at 81,224, and the NSE Nifty ended with a gain of 104 points to settle at 24,854. In the Forex market, the rupee today closes at 84 rupees and 07 paise against the US dollar. In the Indian Bullion Market, 24 Karat Gold was up at 77,750 rupees for 10 grams, and Silver 999 Fine was up at 93,320 rupees per one kilogram. In the global crude market, Brent crude was trading at 74 dollars and 12 cents per barrel, and the U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was trading at 70 dollars and 41 cents per barrel when reports last came in.
