India’s Manu Bhaker Set for Women’s 10m Air Pistol Final at Paris Olympics

On the second day of the Paris Olympics, shooter Manu Bhaker will be gunning for the first medal for the country, as she will be in action in women’s 10-meter air pistol finals at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre today. The match is scheduled to begin at 03:30 PM. In Women’s and Men’s 10-meter Air Rifles Qualification, Ramita Jindal and Elavenil Valarivan, Sandeep Singh and Arjun Babuta will compete respectively this afternoon. Indian athletes will also be competing in archery, table tennis, and badminton today.
 
In women’s team Archery quarterfinal, the trio of Deepika Kumari, Ankita Bhakat and Bhajan Kaur will eye on securing a medal by qualifying for the semi-finals. They will be in action this evening at 5:45 PM. In women’s singles Badminton, two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu will take on Pakistan’s Fatimath Abdul Razzaq in her first match in the group stage this afternoon at 12:45 PM. While in the men’s singles category, HS Prannoy will compete against Germany’s Fabian Roth in the group stage later today. India’s top-ranked singles shuttlers PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy kickstart their group-stage campaigns. Both of them have received comfortable draws in the group stage and will look to start off without any hiccups.
 
In Men’s Singles Tennis, India’s top ranked Sumit Nagal will lock horns with French counterpart Corentin Moutet in Round 1. While in the Men’s Doubles category, experienced Indian pair of Rohan Bopanna and Sriram Balaji will face French pair of Gael Monfils and Edouard Roger Vasselin in Round 1. Both the matches are scheduled to begin from 03:30 PM onwards.
 
Meanwhile, India’s youngest athlete at Paris Olympics Dhinidhi Desinghu will also be seen in action in women’s 200 meter freestyle swimming this afternoon. While Srihari will be in action in men’s 100 meter backstroke swimming event. Two-time world champion boxer Nikhat Zareen will also begin her campaign in the women’s 50kg boxing event today. She will be in action against Germany’s Maxi Carina Kloetzer at 03:50 PM.
 
In Table Tennis Women’s Singles, Sreeja Akula will compete against Sweden’s Christina Kallberg at 02:15 PM and Manika Batra will be up against Great Britain’s Anna Hursey at 04:30 PM. While in the Men’s singles category, Indian star Sharath Kamal will lock horns with Slovenia’s Deni Kozul at 03:00 PM and Harmeet Desai will face French counterpart Felix Lebrun at 11:30 PM.
 
In Rowing Men’s Singles Sculls Repechages event, India’s Balraj Panwar will be in action at 01:18 PM.
