India witnesses substantial surge in overall coal production in September with over 67 million tonne production

The country has witnessed a substantial surge in overall coal production during last month with over 67 million tonne production. It has surpassed the figures of over 58 MT of the corresponding month in the previous year, representing an increase of around 16 percent. The production of Coal India Limited has risen to over 51 MT in September this year as compared to 45.67 MT in September 2022. Additionally, Coal dispatch also witnessed a significant boost in September 2023, reaching an impressive 70.33 MT against 61.10 MT production recorded in September last year.
 
This exceptional growth is attributed to the unwavering dedication of Coal PSUs, which has played a pivotal role in driving this extraordinary progress. This underscores the efficiency of the coal supply chain, ensuring the seamless distribution of coal nationwide. The Coal Ministry expressed its  commitment to maintain consistent coal production and dispatch, ensuring an uninterrupted supply for a reliable and resilient energy sector contributing to the nation’s continued growth and prosperity.
