India & Vietnam sign nine agreements to deepen strategic partnership & enhance cooperation including customs & agriculture

India and Vietnam today signed nine agreements to deepen comprehensive strategic partnership and enhance cooperation in the fields of customs, agriculture, legal, radio and television broadcast, culture, and tourism. This was stated by Secretary East of the Ministry of External Affairs Jaideep Mazumdar in New Delhi today. Briefing the media on the state visit of Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh to India, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh in New Delhi today. He said both the leaders agreed to further deepen the India-Vietnam relationship by increasing economic, strategic, and cultural ties. He said Vietnam is a rapidly growing economy, and India-Vietnam bilateral trade has reached 15 billion US dollars. He said both countries emphasised increasing bilateral trade.

 

 

Mr. Mazumdar said both countries agreed on a plan of action for the implementation of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during 2024-2028. He said the MoU between the Central Agricultural University of Manipur and the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Hanoi, for cooperation in agricultural research and education, was signed today. He said a MoU between Prasar Bharati, New Delhi, and the Voice of Vietnam, Hanoi, for cooperation on radio and television was also signed. He said two-dollar credit line agreements between the two countries amounting to 300 million US dollars were also finalized. He said Vietnam will join the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure.
