In the Women’s Asian Hockey Champions Trophy, India will take on three-time winners South Korea at the Rajgir Hockey Stadium in Bihar today.
Yesterday, India defeated Malaysia with a clean score of 4-0 in their opening match. The Malaysian team tried their best but India’s defence proved unbreakable and despite losing multiple penalty corners, Indian side managed to convert three of them and Sangita Kumari’s brilliant last goal sealed the win for the defending champions.
Earlier, in the inaugural match, Japan and South Korea battled to a thrilling 2-2 draw. Maho Ueno and Saki Tanaka scored for Japan while Mihyang Park and Yujin Lee netted for Korea.
In the second match, China thrashed Thailand with a scoreline of 15-NIL. China remained dominant throughout, scoring 10 goals in the final two quarters.
