In the series opener on Wednesday, the Men in Blue crushed the visitors by seven wickets at Kolkata. Put into bat, England were bundled out for just 132 runs. Spin bowler Varun Chakravarthy bagged 3, while Arshdeep Singh, Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel bagged 2 wickets each. In reply, hosts managed to chase down the target of 133 runs in just 12.5 overs, with Abhishek Sharma’s 79 off just 34 deliveries. Varun Chakravarthy was declared Man of the Match for his economic bowling.
