India Reaches Final of Inaugural U-19 Women’s Asia Cup, Set to Face Bangladesh

In women’s cricket, India has entered the final of the inaugural U-19 Women’s Asia Cup, defeating Sri Lanka in the Super 4 match at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia today. The women in blue, led by Niki Prasad, defeated Sri Lanka by 4 wickets in the Super 4 match today. India chased down the target of 99 runs in just 14.5 overs for the loss of six wickets. G. Trisha, with 32 runs, was the top scorer for India.

 

Earlier, batting first, Sri Lanka scored 98 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. For India, Aayushi scalped four wickets while Parunika bagged two.

 

India will take on Bangladesh in the final on Sunday. Bangladesh women beat Nepal by nine wickets in the other Super Four match today. In the rain-affected 11-over match, Bangladesh restricted Nepal to 54 for 8 and then chased down the modest target in just 9.5 overs. They scored 58 runs losing one wicket.
