Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar has said that India has taken a big leap in the semiconductor manufacturing sector. Addressing a press conference after the inauguration of the Semicon India Exhibition at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar today, the Minister said, the policy efforts of the Gujarat government and with the entry of global semi-conductor giants in Gujarat, the state has become the epicenter for Semiconductor innovation.
 
Stressing upon the wide range of growth opportunities in the sector the minister said the coming decade will be of semiconductors and electronics.
 
Addressing media, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said, semiconductors being the basic need of any industry, the government is giving a major boost to the semiconductor sector. The Chief Minister said the Semicon India exhibition will offer wide opportunities to the industries, academia as well as students to know about the prospects of the emerging sector.
 
The six-day exhibition which was inaugurated today by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is being organised as part of the Semicon India 2023’ conclave will remain open till 30th July. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the conclave on 28 of this month.
