Union Minister of State for Highways and Civil Aviation V.K.Singh has said that India has ranked number one in start ups and investments have flown from 162 countries which has provided employment to thousands of youth. Speaking at the 38th Convocation Ceremony at Vellore Institute of Technology today, he said that India's has registered 6.5 percent economic growth due to the initiatives of the Government. The Minister informed that in the past nine years foreign direct investments in railways, telecommunication and 62 other departments have strengthened the economy of the Country. Listing out the various achievements of the Government, the Minister said that it was the prerogative of the Government to start a medical college in every district.

Mr.Singh encouraged the students to persevere in their studies and equip themselves with several skills to develop in life. The Minister distributed 65 gold medals and distributed degree certificates to 8619 students studying in the Institute.
