Union Minister of Railways, Communications and IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has pointed out that India has awakened to the spirit of innovation and gained the confidence to find solutions to old problems from within the talent prevailing in the country. Speaking at the Start-up Award function at the end of the Digital Innovation Alliance Summit in Bengaluru on 18th August 2023, the minister said that a perceptible change is visible today in our thinking. He said, today the country has gained the confidence to design and manufacture for the world. 

The number of startups have gone up from 500 to over one lakh and Unicorns have gone up to 108 in the last 10 years. The minister presented awards to start-ups from G20 member countries on this occasion in six sectors namely Health tech, Agritech, Edtech, fintech, circular economy and secured digital infrastructure.
