Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that India has displayed its capabilities to world by becoming the first country to reach the south pole of the Moon.
Addressing the Indian community at Athens, Mr Modi said, the country has achieved a new feat in this holy month of Sawan by the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the moon. He said, congratulatory messages are pouring in from all over the world as people are sending their best wishes.
The Prime Minister said, today the world is moving towards a new world order, adding that India's role is changing rapidly amid its increasing capabilities. He said, a few days from now, the G-20 summit is going to be held in India and as a G20 president, the theme decided by the India reflects global harmony. The theme is 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' – One Earth, One Family, One Future.
Prime Minister said, today, India is the fifth largest economic power, and according to experts, the country will be among the top three economies of the globe in few years. He added that global bodies like World Bank and IMF are lauding India's growth trajectory. Mr Modi said, big companies are competing with each other to invest in India.
Speaking about India's progress in Various sector, the Prime Minister said, over 25 lakh kilometer long optical fibre cable was laid in India since 2014. He said, 5G technology was made available to over 700 districts in a record time. Mr Modi highlighted that India is making rapid strides with the power of science, technology and innovation. He said, in the last five years, 13.5 crore Indians have come out of the poverty line. Prime Minister said, with the increase in size of Indian economy, there has been an increase in earnings of every family too.
The Prime Minister said, he is grateful to the President of Greece Katerina Sakellaropoulou and the people of Greece for conferring the award – 'The Grand Cross of the Order of Honour upon him. He said, he dedicates this award to 140 crore Indians.
