India Fulfills All Paris Agreement Indices Before Time: Union Minister Bhupendar Yadav

Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupendar Yadav, has said that developing countries need more than five trillion dollars to meet their climate goals by 2030. Addressing the 19th edition of the CII-ITC Sustainability Summit today in New Delhi, the Minister emphasized the need for financial support and technology transfer to combat climate change. Mr Yadav said that India is one of the few countries that have fulfilled all the indices of the Paris Agreement before time.  He said the government is focusing on reusing and recycling as it will pave the way for a sustainable lifestyle. Mr Yadav emphasized mindful consumption, saying it will not only lead to economic but also ecological growth.

 

The Minister said everybody has the right to live a dignified life, and sustainability is the core element for that. He said the government has taken several measures towards achieving a sustainable environment.
