India has dismissed reported claims made by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau regarding a significant discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Vientiane, Lao PDR. According to official sources, no substantive talks occurred between the two leaders.
India reiterated its concern over ongoing Khalistani activities on Canadian soil and called for decisive action against those involved in promoting violence, extremism, and terrorism. The sources emphasized that the growing ties between pro-Khalistani groups, organized crime, drug cartels, and human trafficking networks should be a matter of concern for Canada.
While India values its relationship with Canada, officials made it clear that the ties cannot improve unless the Canadian government takes stringent measures against individuals and groups engaging in anti-India activities. The sources said, these anti-India activities are fueling hatred, disinformation, and communal discord both in India and Canada.
