In Cricket, India defeated South Africa by 11 runs in the third T20 International of a four-match series at SuperSport Park, Centurion last night. With this victory, India have taken 2-1 lead in four-match series. Chasing a victory target of 220 runs, Proteas made 208 for seven in the allotted twenty overs. Earlier, the hosts won the toss and opted to field. Put into bat, the visitors posted 219 runs for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated twenty overs. Tilak Verma dazzled with a score of unbeaten 107 off 50 balls, while Abhishek Sharma scored quickfire 50 off 25 balls. Andile Simelane and Keshav Maharaj were the pick of the bowlers for the hosts with two wickets each while Marco Jansen took one. For visitors, Arshdeep Singh scalped three wickets, Varun Chakaravarthy took two wicket, Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel claimed a wicket each.
Tilak Varma was adjudged Player of the Match. The fourth and final match of the series will be played at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Friday.
