India beat England by 150 runs in fifth T20I, win series 4-1

In Men’s Cricket, India defeated England by 150 runs in the fifth and final T20 International match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai tonight and won the series by 4-1. Chasing a target of 248 runs set by India, England were all out for 97 in 10.2 overs. Philip Salt with 55 runs was the top scorer for England. For hosts, Mohammed Shami scalped three wickets while Varun Chakravarthy, Shivam Dube and Abhishek Sharma took two wickets each.

       

Earlier, after being put in to bat, hosts scored 247 runs with loss of 9 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Star of today’s match, Abhishek Sharma scored 135 runs in 54 balls for hosts with stunning 13 sixes and 7 fours. He brought up his century off just 37 balls. He recorded the second-fastest century for India in T20Is. The record belongs to Rohit Sharma, who had scored a ton off 35 balls against Sri Lanka in Indore in 2017.
