In Bangladesh, the Assistant High Commission of India, Chittagong, in collaboration with the Cumilla District Administration, organised a common yoga protocol session at the Police Lines Drill Shed, Cumilla, on Sunday. Over 400 participants joined the post-International Day of Yoga 2024 event, which was conducted by the Quantum Foundation, Bangladesh.
The two-hour programme in Cumilla began with an introduction to Ashtanga yoga, followed by sessions catering to various skill levels. Popular yoga event organiser Ahmed Sharif emphasised yoga’s profound impact, stating, “Yoga can help build immunity through breathing exercises that strengthen the lungs. Regular practice of yoga has beneficial effects on the mental health of people as well.” He added that yoga’s true significance lies in creating “conscious human beings who see all life as one.”
The enthusiastic participation across gender and age groups demonstrates the growing popularity of yoga in Bangladesh, bridging diverse communities and promoting holistic well-being.
