India- Algeria Talks to strengthen & expand bilateral relations

President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to hold various bilateral meetings with Algerian leadership in Algeria today, aiming to give a major impetus for strengthening and expanding Indo-Algerian relations. President reached Algiers the capital city of Algeria last evening, as part of her week-long three-nation visit to  Algeria, Mauritania and Malawi.

The   President is also scheduled to visit the Maqam Echahid the martyrs memorial, built in memory of the fighters of the Algerian War of Independence, and lay a wreath there. President will also visit the Mujahid Museum.. She will also address the Algerian India Economic Forum.

Earlier,  President  Droupadi Murmu was accorded a warm ceremonial welcome on her arrival at the Algiers International Airport last evening. She was welcomed by the President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune. Speaking at the community reception later in the evening last day, the President appreciated the efforts of the Indian community in Algeria and urged them to continue the good work thus strengthening the Indo Algerian relation.

          On the second leg of the visit, President Droupadi Murmu will visit Mauritania on 16th  October and in the final leg, the President will visit Malawi from 17th to 19th October. The three-nation visit by President Droupadi Murmu aims to further expand and strengthen India’s ties with the countries in Africa.
