The Income Tax Department, Mumbai is committed to curb the misuse of money power during the upcoming Maharashtra State Legislative Assembly Election, 2024. With a view to ensure free and fair elections and maintain purity of election, an election expenditure monitoring mechanism consisting of a 24 x7 control room has been set up by the Income-Tax Department, Mumbai. This will be in operation till Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is in force. This is to enable the people to provide information regarding cash and valuables utilised in electioneering purposes.
