Incessant rain and the release of water from various reservoirs of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) have created flood-like situations in several districts of West Bengal. DVC released another 1,00,000 cusecs of water from its various reservoirs today. 35 thousand cusecs of water had been released from Maithon reservoir. 75 thousand cusecs of water was released from Panchet reservoir. As a result, various parts in West Midnapore, Hooghly, and Howrah, are feared to be flooded. Out of these districts, the situation in Hooghly district is very alarming, according to the administrative sources. The state government has made all kinds of preparations to deal with the apprehensive flood situation.
