In times to come, SSC will conduct competitive examinations in all 22 Indian languages, says Dr. Jitendra Singh

Science and Technology Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has said that in the times to come, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct competitive examinations in all 22 Indian languages. He said, the intention of the government is to provide a language-neutral, level playing field to all the aspiring candidates. 

Addressing the valedictory session of the Bharatiya Bhasha Summit in New Delhi yesterday, Dr Singh said, from this year onward, SSC examinations are being conducted in 13 languages, that is 11 regional languages in addition to already existing Hindi and English. The Minister informed that the JEE, NEET and UGC exams are also being conducted in twelve Indian Languages and this historic decision will give impetus to participation of local youth, and encourage regional languages. Dr Singh said, in the last nine years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi notable progress has been made to promote the Indian regional languages.
