In Delhi Assembly, AAP MLAs terms CM Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest in alleged excise policy scam as illegal

In the Delhi Assembly today, Aam Aadmi Party MLAs termed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest in alleged excise policy scam as illegal. During the discussion in the House, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Rituraj Govind said that Mr. Kejriwal has been implicated in a false case. He alleged that after Mr. Kejriwal’s arrest, the Bharatiya Janata Party is conspiring to impose President’s rule in the national capital. Mr. Govind added that BJP wants to crush the Aam Aadmi Party. He claimed that he was given offers to join BJP through acquaintances.

In the house, opposition BJP MLA Vijendra Gupta said, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been sent to judicial custody for 15 days. He said, the investigating agency has told that the Chief Minister is not cooperating in the investigation. Mr. Gupta termed the discussion on the arrest of the Chief Minister as baseless. He said that when the matter is pending in the court, there should be no discussion in the House.

Mr. Gupta said, Aam Aadmi Party MLAs are doing politics to create pressure by discussing this issue, which is illegal. Hitting back at Aam Aadmi Party’s allegation on horse trading of MLAs, Mr. Gupta said that AAP MLAs should lodge a police complaint in this regard.  He said that AAP MLAs had spoken about it several times but why did not they complained to the police. Mr. Gupta said that as per the liquor policy, 849 shops had to be opened in Delhi. After the implementation of the policy, all government liquor shops were closed. Mr. Gupta said that today AAP leaders Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and Arvind Kejriwal are in jail due to the liquor policy and in the corruption involved in it.

Mr. Gupta said that AAP was born from the Anna movement and Liquor ban was a major issue in this movement. He alleged that today the Aam Aadmi Party is doing corruption by selling liquor.
