The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heatwave conditions to prevail over Central India during the next 5 days. According to the IMD, heatwave conditions will likely be over East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh till the 25th of this month. Maximum temperatures are expected to rise by 2 degrees Celsius over Central India and Gujarat during the next 3 days and by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius over East India during the next 4 days.
Meanwhile, a heavy to very heavy rainfall spell will continue over Northeast India till the 26th of this month. These conditions will also prevail over Kerala today. The weather agency has also forecast light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Telangana during the next 7 days.
