The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning at isolated places over Central Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today. The IMD also forecasts squally weather conditions over the southern parts of the southeast Bay of Bengal. The weather department has advised fishermen to avoid venturing into the sea in this region.
According to the IMD, a gradual fall in minimum temperature by 2 degrees Celsius is expected over Northwest India during the next three days and over East India during the next two days. The weather department also said that the East India region will witness a gradual rise in temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius thereafter. Dense fog conditions are very likely to prevail during the late night and early morning hours in isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh until the 10th of this month. The met department also forecasted smog and mist in the evening and night hours in Delhi NCR with a clear sky.
