Heat wave conditions are likely over isolated pockets of Rayalaseema, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala and East Uttar Pradesh.
The IMD said, the maximum temperatures will rise by about one to two degree celsius over East India during next two days and no significant change thereafter.
On the other hand, the weather department has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura from Wednesday. Rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds is expected over Western Himalayan Region and adjoining plains of Northwest India today.
Meanwhile, the IMD said, Delhi will witness strong surface winds during day time for the next three days. The maximum temperature in the national capital is likely to hover around 38 degrees Celsius today.
