India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that heat wave to severe heat wave conditions are likely to continue over East and south Peninsular India during the next five days. The severe heatwave conditions are likely to prevail over Gangetic West Bengal, some parts over Odisha and over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Heat wave conditions are also likely over Bihar, Jharkhand, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. IMD said, the maximum temperatures will rise by two to three degrees Celsius over East India, Maharashtra and many parts of south peninsular India.
On the other hand, the weather office has forecast heavy rainfall over Northeast India during next four days. Light to moderate rainfall and snowfall is also likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
