The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that conditions are favorable for the further advance of the Southwest Monsoon into remaining parts of North Arabian Sea, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar, as well as most parts of Northern India in the next three to four days. IMD also forecasts extremely heavy rainfall to continue over Konkan, Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu until tomorrow. Similar weather patterns are expected in North East India, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, and Odisha over the next three to four days.
In related news, various parts of the National Capital received light rainfall, providing much-needed relief amidst hot weather conditions.
Regarding heatwaves, IMD stated that Punjab is likely to experience heatwave conditions only until today.
