India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over West, Central and coastal parts of the country for the next three to four days. The IMD said that a deep depression over north Gujarat moved westwards in the past 6 hrs and it is likely to move slowly west-southwestwards across the Gujarat region. It will reach Saurashtra and Kutch coast and adjoining areas of Pakistan and northeast Arabian Sea by the morning of 29th August.

Under this influence, Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch, Rajasthan, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Jharkhand, Konkan and Goa, Odisha, Madhya Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Andaman and Nicobar Islands are expected to witness very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall till 31st of this month.
