Heavy rains have battered the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, leading to widespread flooding, inundation, waterlogging, structural damage to homes, road submersion, uprooted trees, and other significant impacts.
The torrential downpours triggered landslides across several parts of the state, resulting in the blockage of highways and local roads. In the Kumaon region, areas such as Banbasa, Tanakpur, Khatima, and Sitarganj are experiencing flood-like situations, prompting the deployment of the National Disaster Response Force.
The IMD has issued warnings of a low to moderate threat of flash floods in districts including Bageshwar, Nainital, Almora, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Udham Singh Nagar, and Chamoli over the next six hours.
