The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange alert in parts of Maharsthra and Madhya Pradesh today. The IMD has forecast moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of upto 50 kilometers per hour speed over parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Maharashtra till the 13th of this month. In south India, these conditions will continue over over Telangana, Kerala and Puducherry during the next 6 days.
The IMD added that moderate rainfall with thunderstorm and lightning will prevail over West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar and Andaman and Nicobar Islands till the 13th of this month, and over Rajasthan till the 15th of this month. The weather agency also predicted rainfall and snowfall very likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during the next 3 days. Over North East India, rainfall and snowfall with thunderstorm and lightning will continue during the next 4 days.
On the other hand, heat wave conditions will prevail over Gujarat today and tomorrow. While, hot and humid conditions will prevail over Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry till tomorrow, and over Kerala till 13th of this month.
The IMD has predicted the maximum temperatures to gradually rise by about 3 to 5 degrees Celsius over parts of East India during next 4 days. No significant change in maximum temperatures is expected over rest of the country.
