The Met Department has issued an alert for flash flood in different parts of Bihar in view of heavy rainfall in catchment areas of Nepal and in the state. The department has cautioned to remain alert till Saturday.
Neighbouring areas of Nepal and districts like Katihar, Araria, Madhepura, Sheohar, Madhubani are witnessing torrential rainfall affecting normal life in these areas. The Met Department has issued yellow alert for heavy rainfall over Northern Bihar. East Champaran, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Saran, Siwan, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Patna and Bhojpur districts are witness continuous rainfall. Among them several districts are already flood affected. In Southern Bihar an orange alert has been issued.
The Disaster Management department has said that incidents of surface runoff and inundation are likely to increase in low lying areas.
