IMD issues alert for heavy to very heavy rain in several parts of the state

In Uttar Pradesh, heavy rain has disrupted normal life in many parts of the state. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy to very heavy rain in several parts of the state for the next 24 hours. Aakashvani correspondent reports that it has been raining heavily in several districts of central, Purvanchal, and Tarai regions of the state since yesterday. Schools up to class 8 have been closed today and will also be closed tomorrow in many districts by the administration. Heavy rain has caused waterlogging, and road traffic has been affected. At least five people have lost their lives in rain-related accidents in the state. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting of senior officials this morning and asked them to remain alert in view of the torrential rain since last night. Talking to Akashvani News, Mohammed Danish, a scientist at the Lucknow Weather Centre, said that the rain could continue for the next 2 days due to a low-pressure area created in Madhya Pradesh, which is moving towards the central region of Uttar Pradesh.
