The India Meteorological Department has forecast very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall and moderate to high flash flood risk over Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand during the next 24 hours. Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is also likely over Chhattisgarh, Bihar and east Madhya Pradesh for the next two days.

The Weather office has also predicted heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal,  Sikkim, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya during the next 48 hours. The department has advised Fishermen not to venture into the north Bay of Bengal and along and off Bangladesh, West Bengal, and Odisha coasts till the morning of 16th.
