India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast very heavy rainfall over Kerala, Karnataka and Goa during the next four days. Similar conditions accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning is also likely in parts of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Gujarat. IMD has said that conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and some parts of East Uttar Pradesh during next three days. In North Eastern India and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, heavy to very heavy rainfall will continue to prevail for the next five days. The weather department further said that thunderstorm and lightning accompanied with gusty winds is likely to prevail over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh for the next two to three days.
Meanwhile, heat wave conditions at isolated places over west Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi is likely for the next two days and will abate after that.
