India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by squally winds, hailstorms and lightning over East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Vidarbha, Assam, Meghalaya, Telangana and Bihar today. According to IMD, gusty winds and lightning are also likely over West and East Uttar Pradesh, Marathwada, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram Tripura, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim today. Similar conditions are expected over South Interior Karnataka, Arunachal Pradesh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Kerala and Mahe.

The weather agency also advised fishermen not to venture into the areas along and off the West Bengal coast and north Odisha coast due to squally winds.

The Met Department also predicted Heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh till tomorrow. Besides, hot and humid conditions are likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
