The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said, that cold wave to severe cold wave conditions will continue over Northwest and Central India during the next two to three days.
The weather agency said, cold wave conditions will prevail over parts of Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh during the next two days.
In East India, these conditions will prevail over Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand today.
Talking to media, IMD scientist Dr Soma Sen Roy said, the sudden dip in temperatures in the North India was due to the western disturbance.
Meanwhile, the weather agency has said, the predominant surface wind is likely in Delhi-NCR today and tomorrow. Delhi- NCR region will also witness smog and mist in the late night hours.
