IMD forecasts rainfall, thunderstorms across several states

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and squally winds, over Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Interior Karnataka today. According to the IMD, scattered to fairly widespread light rainfall, along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds of up to 30-40 kilometres per hour is likely over Arunachal Pradesh for the next four days. Similar weather conditions are expected to persist over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Kerala Mahe, and Lakshadweep for the next 2-3 days.

 

The weather department has also predicted a gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-4 degrees Celsius across most parts of the country over the next four days. Hot and humid weather conditions are very likely to prevail in isolated pockets over coastal areas of Gujarat State till the 25th of March.
