IMD forecasts rainfall and thunderstorms East and Central India for next four days

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rainfall and thunderstorms over East and Central India for the next four days. The IMD said that widespread rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of up to 40 kilometres per hour will be over parts of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh till the 20th of this month. Light rainfall and snowfall will likely be present over the Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and North-East India for the coming six days. The IMD has also predicted light rainfall and snowfall over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh on the 21st of the month.

The weather agency expects the maximum temperature over parts of South India to remain unchanged during the next three to four days. It added that hot and humid weather will continue to prevail over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh during the next two days. The IMD has also forecast no significant change in maximum temperatures over East India during the next two days and a fall by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius thereafter. In West and Northwest India, the maximum temperatures will rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius during the next three to four days. No significant change in maximum temperatures is expected over the remaining parts of the country during the next four days.
