India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate rainfall in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Bihar today. It said, moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds is expected over many parts of India, including the East, Central, and adjoining peninsulas. The winds gusting up to 40 kilometers per hour will also likely to prevail over East Uttar Pradesh today. The IMD said, scattered to fairly widespread light rainfall with isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds is likely over Jharkhand, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh till tomorrow. The weather department further predicted heavy rainfall over Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam.
Meanwhile, it said, Delhi and the National Capital Region will witness hot and dry weather for the next few days. Today, the maximum temperature in the city is likely to hover between 32 and 33 degrees Celsius.
