India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that Isolated to scattered, light to moderate rainfall and snowfall is very likely over Western Himalayan Region during next seven days and isolated light to moderate rainfall over adjoining plains of Northwest India until the 5th of this month. The weather department also forecast Isolated thunderstorms and lightning over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit- Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh during the next three days and over Uttarakhand on 3rd and 5th April and West Uttar Pradesh on 4th and 5th of this month.
IMD has also said that a cyclonic circulation lies over northeast Assam and another over northeast Bihar in lower tropospheric levels. It said, there is high moisture incursion from Bay of Bengal to northeastern states in lower tropospheric levels. Under its influence, Isolated to Scattered light and moderate rainfall is very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during next seven days with isolated thunderstorms and lightning till tomorrow. Isolated heavy rainfall and snowfall are very likely over Arunachal Pradesh till 5th April and Isolated heavy rainfall over Assam and Meghalaya till Thursday.
The weather department has also forecast heatwave conditions over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, North Interior Karnataka, and Telangana during the next three days. Hot and humid weather is likely to prevail over Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Odisha.
Meanwhile, the IMD has forecast strong winds and a partly cloudy sky in Delhi. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 33 degrees Celsius.
