The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over Goa, Central Maharashtra, Gujarat, Chattisgarh, Vidarbha, Telangana, and Odisha during the next three to five days.
In a statement IMD said, a cyclonic circulation lies over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal Odisha. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the Northwest Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours. According to the IMD’s forecast, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Mumbai, and coastal Andhra Pradesh will witness isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall spells in the coming days. Several parts of the northeastern states including south Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are also likely to witness widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall.
Meanwhile, the water level in the national capital is still above the danger mark of 205.33 meters. According to the Central Water Commission (CWC), the water level of the Yamuna River was recorded at 205.4 meters today. CWC predicted that the water level will reach below the danger mark yesterday.
