India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema today.
Rainfall in these areas will continue till the 15th of this month. Squally weather is expected in many parts of the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of the west central Bay of Bengal, along and off the coasts of Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu today.
IMD advised fishermen not to venture into these regions. The weather agency further informed that dense to very dense fog conditions are very likely to prevail in the night and morning hours in parts of west Punjab and Himachal Pradesh during the next 3-4 days.
There will be no significant changes in temperatures over northwest and central India. The Eastern region can experience a fall in the temperature by 3-4 degrees Celsius after 2 days.
