The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast extremely heavy rainfall over Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat during the next two days. IMD has also forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in coastal and Interior Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha tomorrow. The weather agency also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till Thursday.

IMD said that a low pressure area has formed over West central Bay of Bengal and adjoining Northwest Bay off North Andhra and South Odisha coasts under the influence of cyclonic circulation.
