India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast extremely heavy rainfall over Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and East and West Madhya Pradesh on Saturday. The IMD said that extremely heavy rainfall will also be likely over Meghalaya today and ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa till tomorrow. It added that isolated heavy rainfall conditions will prevail over Jammu-Kashmir till the 5th of this month, and Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and North-East India till the 10th of this month. Meanwhile, in South India, Very heavy rainfall conditions will be present over Coastal Karnataka till tomorrow and heavy rainfall conditions over Kerala, Mahe and Tamil Nadu till the 5th of this month. The weather agency has predicted light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm and lightning very likely over most of the country during the week.
