The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast cold wave conditions over Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra, Kutch, and parts of Punjab during the next 3-4 days. Dense fog conditions in the morning and night hours are also likely to prevail in isolated pockets of Uttar Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura till the 14th of this month. The IMD further predicted ground frost conditions in Uttarakhand in the coming 2 days.
The weather department added that there will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over Northwest and Central India during the next 4-5 days. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema can witness heavy to very heavy rainfall during the week. Meanwhile, Delhi today recorded the coldest morning of the season, with the National Capital’s Safdarjung station recording a temperature of 4.9 degrees Celsius.
