IFFI Day 5: Over 75 films to screen across various languages and genres today

As the 55th International Film Festival of India passes the halfway mark, Day 5 will feature over 75 films screened across various languages and genres.

 

With the conclusion of the Creative Minds of Tomorrow Challenge and Film Bazaar, the focus now shifts to master classes and panel discussions, offering a day filled with engaging sessions.

 

There will be gala premieres of Left Unsaid and Manjummel Boys. The Kala Academy, where the masterclasses and insightful discussions take place, will host Anand Gandhi, Kriti Sanon, and Philip Noyce.

 

Akashvani  correspondent reports, Renowned personalities like Anand Gandhi, Kriti Sanon, and Philip Noyce will take center stage during the sessions masterclass and panel discussions today. While Anand Gandhi and Pragya Mishra will discuss the topic “Will AI Alter Filmmaking Forever?”, with the Festival Director Shekhar Kapoor moderating the conversation, Australian Director Philip Noyce will conduct a masterclass on “How to Succeed in New Hollywood”. 

 

Later in the evening, Bollywood actor Kriti Sanon will speak on “Empowering Change: Women Leading the Way in Cinema”. Now when the festival has passed the halfway mark, One of the festival’s awaited  events is the coveted Golden Peacock Award.

 

This year’s lineup features a rich mix of 12 international films and 3 Indian films, each selected for its unique perspective, voice, and artistry.

 

The winning film will receive a cash prize of Rs 40 lakh, along with one of the festival’s highest honours. The Goat Life, Article 370, and Raavsaheb are representing India in the competition for the coveted award.
