In the second edition of ICC Under 19 Women’s Cricket T20 World Cup, Defending champion India will begin their title defence against West Indies in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, today. The Match is scheduled to start at 12:00 pm Indian Standard Timings.
India had won the inaugural title in South Africa in 2023 after defeating England in the final. India are placed in Group A with Malaysia, Sri Lanka and West Indies.
In the opening match yesterday, Australia defeated Scotland by nine wickets. Chasing the target of just 48 runs Australia reached the target in 6.4 overs with Kate Pelle’s quickfire 29 off 18 balls.
The tournament features 16 Cricket teams, including hosts Malaysia. The 16 teams have been divided into four groups and a total of 41 matches will be played over the course of the 16-day long tournament. The U19 Women’s T20 World Cup final will be played on February 2 at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur.
