In Women’s Cricket, India will take on the West Indies in the second ODI of the three-match ICC Championship series at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara this afternoon. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:30 PM.
Earlier, India defeated the visitors by 211 runs in the first ODI played at the same venue on Sunday. This was India’s second-biggest victory in Women’s ODIs. Batting first, India put up a huge total of 314 for nine in 50 overs. The bowlers then bundled out the West Indies for just 103 runs in 26.2 overs.
For India, Renuka Singh Thakur claimed her maiden five wicket haul and earned the Player of the Match award. While Co-skipper Smriti Mandhana shone with the bat, scoring 91 runs. Mandhana has been in outstanding form, scoring a century and four consecutive fifties in her last five innings across formats. The Hosts aims to maintain its momentum after winning T20 International series, 2-1 against the West Indies in Navi Mumbai.
