I&B Minister Anurag Thakur criticises Congress for wasting time of Parliament, avoiding discussion on Bills introduced by govt

Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur has criticised the Congress for wasting the time of the Parliament and avoiding discussion on Bills introduced by the Government. In an interaction with media persons in Chennai on Saturday, the Minister questioned the double standards of the Congress which chose to stay away from discussion in 21 bills which were introduced in the House but selective participation in the Delhi Services Bill for political gain.

Answering queries on Manipur, he said that it was Union Home Minister Amit Shah who visited the State for four days to address violence and assured action against those who indulged in violence.
 
The Minister highlighted India's aspiration to bid for the 2036 Olympic Games and applauded the Modi-led Government's investment in world class infrastructure in many parts of the Country. Mr. Thakur stated that the Government had allocated the highest amount for Sports development in this fiscal year. The Sports Minister cited India's impressive performance by winning 26 medals in the World University Games held in China. The Minister also applauded India's triumph at winning the Thomas Cup title and creating history.
