Two days G20 Conference on Crime and Security in the Age of NFTs, AI, and Metaverse will be organized in Gurugram, Haryana on the 13th and 14th of this month. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will address the inaugural session of the conference on the 13th.
The Home Affairs Ministry said the two-day conference will bring together over 900 participants from G20 countries, nine special invitee countries, international bodies, technology leaders, and domain experts from the country and across the world. The conference is envisaged as an opportunity to forge a global partnership to build a safe cyberspace and to prioritize cyber security concerns. During the conference, extensive deliberations will be held on cyber security and measures to counter cybercrime in the context of new and emerging technologies like Non-Fungible Tokens, Artificial Intelligence, and Metaverse. The conference will provide a platform for sharing cutting-edge ideas and knowledge exchange. According to the Ministry, the deliberations on cyber security and cybercrime prevention at the G20 forum will also help in the development of an information-sharing framework.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also flag off the Cyber Volunteer Squads from seven premier educational institutions of the country. These specially identified volunteers will work to generate cyber awareness in society, identify and report harmful content, and render technical assistance for making society cyber-safe. Mr. Shah will also inaugurate an exhibition and release Conference Medallion.
During the conference there will be six technical sessions on Internet Governance, Artificial Intelligence, Securing DPI amidst Unprecedented Scale of Digitization, Extended Reality, Metaverse and Future of Digital Ownership, Connecting the Dots, and Criminal Use of Information and Communications Technology. The conference will conclude on the 14th of this month with the valedictory session, which will be addressed by the Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.
